We are almost in a new month, and I am inspired to do something new on the blog. In the past we’ve had “Idioms of the Week”, “Words of the Weekend”, “Free Friday”, etc…but change is good! Change keeps things exciting, keeps you guessing and coming back for more.
So welcome to the first post of “Phrasal Verb Friday”!
Because of the importance of phrasal verbs in everyday English use, it’s about time I am giving you this information online. I’ll include helpful and most common phrasal verbs (p.vs), p.vs by theme, strategies to learn, and so much more! This week will focus on using a theme, animals. Who doesn’t love animals?! Enjoy this infographic with definitions and examples, and see below for some additional practice with discussion questions. Feel free to use these questions as part of a lesson plan, additional self practice, conversation ideas with your friends ;), or/and I strongly encourage you to practice and answer here, in the comment section.
Discussion questions
1. Do you think it’s rude to duck out of a party without saying goodbye? Why or why not?
2. When is the last time you pigged out on food, and what was the food?
3. Have you ever been leeched off by someone? Have you ever leeched off someone else?
4. Is it okay to monkey around sometimes at work?
5. What are some of the problems with wolfing down food?
6. What have you chickened out of doing?
7. Does it bother you when people ‘beat around the bush’ and fish for information, rather than just being direct?
